Hi all,

Here is my quick preview of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series which will be on the big screen on 15th July 2011.

I am a big fan of the Harry Potter franchise and am looking forward to watching the end of the series. You could say I have grown up with Harry Potter.  I have read the all the books and cannot wait to see this finale on the big screen.  Everything else has been leading up to this final film.

I can remember when it all first started in 2001 and I wondered what all the fuss was about. But this first film bowled me over and so I read the book, which was even better.

Harry, Hermione and Ron from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone (2001)

Little did I realise back in 2001 how big this franchise was to become. But I was hooked and have seen every film and read every book since.  In my opinion they have got better and better in time. And now the time for the awesome finale is nearly upon us.  And I must say at this point that I am really glad that they split the final book into 2 parts as there is certainly a lot to cover.

Anyway, in this highly anticipated epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort. It all ends here.

With three of Voldemort’s six horcruxes destroyed, Harry, Ron and Hermione must find the rest. One of them is a fabled Cup that once belonged to Helga Hufflepuff, one of the founders of Hogwarts, but the other two remain mysteries. They deduce both Gringotts and Hogwarts are likely hiding places, but will the mystical yet real Deathly Hallows prove to be a crucial part in the unfolding of events? Lord Voldemort has gained possession of the all-powerful Elder Wand, strengthening him further, but who really is its true master? Did the fateful events of 16 years ago have even more impact than Harry thought? All of these questions must be answered for ultimate Battle of Hogwarts, where the final showdown between Harry and the Dark Lord will determine the fate of both the wizarding and muggle worlds for the rest of eternity.

Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley continue their search for Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes, which ultimately leads up to an epic battle at Hogwarts.

This film ties up every single loose end of the whole saga. And in between quests for hidden horcruxes and  duals with Lord Voldermort, Harry finds time for a little romance.  If its anything like the book you wont be disappointed.

There have been 8 films in the series, so just in case you have forgotten here is what’s happened up to now….. Here is a quick reminder:-

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Well basically Harry Potter is an orphan. His parents (two of the world’s best wizards) were killed by evil Lord Voldemort but when Voldemort tried to kill Harry as well, his killing curse rebounded and reduced the evil wizard to a weak, half-life like form. Voldemort then disappears for a decade.

Harry is left to be raised by his despicable Uncle and Aunt, the wizarding world believing that Voldemort is gone forever.

At the age of 11, children with wizard powers are invited to a special school – Hogwarts – to train and learn about their special gift. It is here that Harry meets Hermione and Ron,  the two children who would become his best friends and closest allies in the battle against evil. Harry learns the art of Quidditch and has his first run-in with Lord Voldemort.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry returns to Hogwarts – despite a warning from Dobby the house elf – and finds that sinister things are happening. Students are petrified like statues and menacing messages emanate from the walls. The trio must find the Chamber of Secrets and rescue Ron’s sister Ginny from its depths.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Convict Sirius Black escapes from Azkaban and it is feared he is out to kill Harry. But Black is revealed to be Harry’s godfather and we learn that it was Peter Pettigrew, not Black, who betrayed Harry’s parents to Voldemort and caused their deaths.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Year four at Hogwarts and Harry is chosen to compete in the Triwizard Tournament. Voldemort captures Harry and tries to kill him but our hero

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Teenager Harry struggles to convince the sceptical wizarding community that Voldemort has returned. The new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Dolores Umbridge, arrives at the school but isn’t all that she seems. The film ends with a duel between Voldemort and Headmaster Albus Dumbledore.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry begins a romance with Ron’s sister, Ginny, and sets about preparing to destroy Voldemort once and for all. This film also sees the demise of Dumbledore.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1

As Harry races against time and evil to destroy the Horcruxes, he uncovers the existence of three most powerful objects in the wizarding world: the Deathly Hallows.
